Compassionate Care for Animals in Need
Safe Place Animal Rescue and Sanctuary is dedicated to providing a safe haven for animals in need. We are committed to offering love, care, and support to all animals, and our team works tirelessly to ensure the well-being of every life in our care.

What We Do
Foster Care
At Safe Place, we provide foster care for dogs from local rescues, giving them a loving temporary home while they wait for their forever families. Euthanasia in our local animal shelters is at an all-time high. There are many reputable rescues trying to save these dogs but most need foster homes to care for the dogs until they can be adopted. Safe Place provides access to a small studio building that works well for mother dogs and their puppies. We want to continue to expand our capacity to be able to foster more dogs.
Sanctuary for Farm Animals
Farm animals like pigs, goats, and chickens are among the most overlooked companions in need of sanctuary, despite being every bit as emotional, intelligent, and deserving of safety as the animals we more commonly protect. Marketed as “teacup” or “mini” pigs, many grow to a healthy adult size that unprepared families didn’t expect—leading to abandonment, surrender, or rehoming efforts that often fail. When these gentle beings can’t find secure, knowledgeable homes, they’re too often viewed as livestock rather than companions, and many are taken in for food. This is not simply a rehoming issue—it’s a systemic problem rooted in misinformation, stigma, and the lack of dedicated sanctuary space. Safe Place Animal Rescue and Sanctuary exists to challenge that narrative and to ensure that every pig, goat, chicken, and other deserving animals who have been failed by people are instead met with lifelong protection, dignity, and respect.
